Why hello familia.

Estoy en Colombia. My companion and I and the other elder got into Bogota last night at around 8oclock. . got to the MTC around 9 and stayed the night then qwoke up at 3 oclock and flew to cali at 5. It has been a really long 2 days. That is all i can say. lol basically we are supposed to just say that we got here safely and everything is ok. I am pretty sure they did not teach me spanish. lol All of the women here have darker hair with like a blonde streak. interesting. But my first companionis from Peru. His name is Elder Duque. But i am alive and Good and everything here is good. I will email you all Later on lunes. Love you all. You are the best family ever. Love you all.

9th Week - Last Week at the MTC

CRAZYYYYYYYY!! Week 9 is already here and i leave in a week. I got my travel plans........I have my flight to ATL at 830 in the morning...flight number 1524. lol then i go from ATL to Bogota Colombia. Says i will be in ATL at 215-450. Long layover. So expect phone calss from me, i am going to buy a Phone card. Two actually so i can call yall. Nuts that that time is already here. I am freaking out, Not sure if i am ready at all to go. My spanish is garbage compared to where i think it should be. But, we will see what happens tho. So i finished the BOM. It is awesome. So many cool things in it. But, i dont know what my favorite stories are. And this week i am being one of the Missionaries that starts off the teacing infron of another 100 new missionaries, i think Blake knows what i am kinda talking about. But yea, they said we were reccommened by our teachers on our teaching skills......i was like....what? lol So another fun experience infront of a crowd of people. lol SO, everything here is good. Just trying to fit in everything really quickly. lol Blake, you should tell Kyle to stay outside of my classroom in 17m, so that he can come up with me and take your sweater away from my room and also the blanket i have. lol I dont wanna mail them.And, nope i do not need anything else, i have it all good. Thanks But yeah, I am stoked to go out, but scarred for how bad the first couple months will be. lol Sounds like Cali was awesome. I hate you Blake for getting a Daves Burger!!! lol But yeah, i will jut finish this week strong and next week my email will be on monday, that is the Preperation day because i fly out on Tuesday the 20th. Sounds like you all are doing well. Love all of you so much and you all should go read Ether 12. one of my favorite Chapters. Love you all so much.

Tyler at MTC -- Hola Mi Familia

Hola Mi Familia Y Amigos.
WHatuppppppp!, So, this week was meh. Nothing to cool happened just the same old Class for 9 hours a day and stuff. But, i have recently stopped playing Basketball because the competition is sooo bad. So, i have recently been playing volleyball in my gym time. It is so dope. Me and Elder Laulusa ( who is in my district) and good. He is really good, played in HS and stuff, but i am picking it up quick. I love getting a solid spike. haha, but it has been tons of fun and more chill than basketball. We have started running to on P-Days, doing like 4 laps around the MTC so it is great. I was sucking air tho. lol But, as for my district and everything they are doing good. I was getting really annoyed by 3 of the Elders in the District, they were being really immature and just annoying. But it is a little better now. OHHHHHH, so my Elder has a Lightweight Ear Infection. So, we went to the doctors yesterday here at the MTC then we had to go and pick up perscriptions!! IT was in the OUTSIDE WORLD. So crazy! We walked like a Block towards BYU, I was hoping Blake would randomly drive by. haha But, it was great. My favorite meal in the cafeteria proly is the Biscuits and Gravy. Just goes to show that all of the other food is well......edible. haha Blake, what the heck is the RC? i have no idea. Also, i went to look for your TIE......and sadly i could not find it...:( And no, i havent seen kyle since i took that pic with him. But, i did see the guy who was in our ward who served his mission in mongolia. I have yet to see JC where does he work? which Building.....? But, other than that, it was just a really normal week here. Lots of spanish and all that other good stuff. Oh, and we got a new district. they are pretty chill. Oh, and DAD, you wanted to know the Presidents Whole name. It is President Gordon Brown....ring a bell? OHHHHH, and what the heck!!! Why did nobody tell me Jeremy Evans was in the DUNK contest!!!! AND WON!!!!! I was freaking out, my companions dad sent him a picture of Evans dunking 2 balls over Hayward! SICK. also, how did Hayward and Favors do in the Rookie Sophomore game? FIll me in with Dear Elders. But, gotta bounce now. Love yall. Hope everyone that is reading this is doign awesome. Pretty Bird, Pretty Bird.

8th Week in the MTC

Hello everybody. Another week in the books. It is the exactly same thing every week, so i am going to chit chat about Alex Boye!!! He gave the talk for our Fireside this past sunday! It was so SICK! He was making hilarious jokes, mainly about being black and liking chicken! haha so good. But other than that he just had a super good talk about never being negativeand always being positive! 2 Nephi 27:27 i think. and another scripture in Psalms, but it was just fantastic. His story was so cool! And of course he sang and was amazing! He first just sang a normal hymm, then he did his own little rendition of Be Still My Soul, it was soo good! He was walking around the whole gym singing it, going up and down the bleachers, haha so good though! It was his first time speaking at the MTC and i doubt that he get asked back again! haha. But not much is new, i still havent found blakes tie, Still trying hard with spanish and just working hard. Oh, but this past week i went into the outside world, about a block down from the MTC. SO SKETCH, lol it was awkward. My companion had to pick up some meds for an ear infection so we walked about 300 yards down the street. lol crazy. But overall, my district is doing good, and so is my companion. I have recently begun to play foursquare because Basketball is too easy, and lets just say there arent many people who play volleyball that can get it over the net, let alone hit it somewhat good. lol But otherwise in my reading i am almost done with 3rd Nephi, it is awesome and we all know why! :) But, it is great. Oh ya, and with my companion whenever we log onto computers we pretend like we were playing SC2, saying things like "Thor is here!", "Can't Build There.", "Need more Supply." "I'm supply blocked." Ghost Reporting.","Need more vespene Gas", and many more, it is great fun. lol Im sure Blake will be the only one to get it. lol But otherwise, i am doing great. My Visa already got through like the second week i was here, i still have to get one shot before i leave. I have heard nothing about my departure date, Nick Sessions left on the 3rd. I got all of his information and everything, he was doing good. Oh, and NO i do not need any more cnady. lol tooo mcuh. haha But thanks so much for all of the packages. Elder Welling's Aljazeera Interview at the MTC

Dear Family and Friends

Elders Watts and Welling along with Sisters Potts and Andersen have had a remarkable week. These 4 wonderful missionaries were selected to be interviewed last Friday by the Aljazeera Network which covers news around the world for the Islamic world and many Christian countries. The network potentially reaches 240 million homes around the world. The missionaries will be in a documentary hosted by Mr Bob Abeshouse to be shown in April 2012. You should look for the broadcast on the internet and can be seen via the internet at a future date.

The missionaries were absolutely magnificent in the interview. They were poised, handling questions with maturity and thoughtful answers. Most importantly they radiated the light of Christ and were filled with Power and Authority as they answered questions. The Holy Ghost was the constant companion to each missionary during the interview.

Last night was our weekly fireside for all 2000 missionaries. We had the 4 missionaries come to the stand and they participated with me in a round table discussion on the Aljazeera interview they had on Friday. Again, they handled themselves with maturity and dignity. As families you have done a wonderful job is raising these choice young people.

5th Week in the MTC

Hola mi familia y mi amigos.
Que tal? i am just chillin here on P-Day, not much going on. Besides the fact i am a celebrity once again in the MTC. hah As i guess you all have heard, i got interview by Aljeezera. It was pretty dope. I will og through the week so you all know what i went through. I will start on tuesday. So, tueday aboiut 10 oclock i am just chillin in the classroom right before we are about to go to TALL(computer lab program) and then we get called down to go to the Presidents room, it was pretty weird and unexpected. (i personally thought we were introuble.) but anyways he just wanted to talk to us about why wer are here and how our spanish is going. Then, he said he knew Grandpa Clark Welling. He said how good of a man he was. I thought you would like to hear that dad. But then he just chatted with us about why we are here and everything like that. It was sweet. Then we went back and finished out our day. I faked to all of my guys in the district that we were being sent home and they all fell for it. haha :) but anyways wednesday rolls around and Spencer Christiansen head of operations over the MTC snagged us from class, asked my Comapnion and I if we would like to be in the interview with Aljeezera. So we said "yes." It was great. had practice that day for about an hour saying what to say and what not to say. Basically saying by listening to our message we can help you in your life and things like that.. So, then the interview rolls around and the Crew was actually from New York. But, overall the questions were pretty fair. I killed it, definetly helped to have opractice, it was tons of fun. Then, sunday devotional rolls around President Brown calls me and my comapanion and the other 2 sisters who were with us and asked us some questions infront of 2,500 missionaries. It was great! The meeting was basically on us. Kinda weird, but awesome. Said how hard he work and how the spirit was definetly with us when interviewing. It was really cool. I had so much fun. (i love that stuff tho. haha) So, this week was very interesting and cool. I loved every minute of it. I learned a lot too. Then, after devotional we got to watch the Testaments again and yes Blake & Derrick, i heard the dinosaur soiunds this time. haah. But mom, it is OK to send me Normal sized Can of Cokes. haha, Blake i am going to find that Tie today. haha, and spanish is still difficult. :( Um, idk. my week was great, love you all so much, and miss you a ton more. Just when i think you cant do anything stupider, you go and do something like this......AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF. name that movie. :)

4th Week in the MTC

What up! Elder Welling reporting, almost a month done. It is really weird to think that. But also cool. So, tell me who won the freaking grammys!! I wanna know, over a year ago i bet James that the fOO Fighters would win 2 or more. So hopefully i was right. But things here are good. We basically have the best district. we have these things called box scores and basically they measure our obeidience. So our district got 100% on them. Our Branch Presidency was proud and basically said in fron of all of the other districts that we are the ebst and that they need to look up to us on how to be. haha pretty funny. OH BUT I NEED COKE!! badly, i have so many treats still. so dont send me treats for a while. Or i will get fat. But everything here is great. Nothing is new at all. Just plugging along learning spanish. The conjugations are what get me. Dont know when to use a specific type of conjugation. I guess it is basically memorization tho. We do like fake investigator thingys which are awesoime. It is good that way to learn what pweople are saying and how you can respond to them. I will send you guys pics in letters. I cant in email. or, i dont knoiw how too. so i will print those out later today and send them. I am still dominationg at basketball right now. I could play for the Jazz. My shot is back and is the best out of everyone during gym time......did i mention how humble i am. haha Our last devotional was this past sunday,. It was great, i forgot who spoke but basically he had recent co0nverts from the mission frowd who are know missionaries come up and give their story. One kid was from ATL, another from North Carolina, and they have been converts for just over a year. It was really cool to see, and hear about their stories. My district is awesome tho. We all get a long so well, it is so much fun. Going to suck when we all have to leave tho. But, it hasnt even been a month yet, so that day is kinda far off. How are things in the real world? How was the Foo's performance at the grammys? Oh, right now i am in alma 17 or somerthing like that. So sick when Alma the younger and Amulek walked out of the prison that just crumbled behind them. SOOOO COOOL! Hopefully i will start to get into Teancums story. Basically the first balck ops agent ever! Well, love you guys so much. Miss you all and Hope everything is going well.

3rd Week in the MTC

Hello familia,

How are you all doing this week. I am doing well, but the keyboad i am typing on sucks once again. so sorry for the mistakes. Basically, in the mTC now, it is very fun with my companion and stuff, everyone is starting to bond well, and get better about knowing when to be serious and when to have fun. Everythinmgh is great tho. except for the spanish stuff. I got really frusterated with it. It is just really hard and you have to think a different way. It is kinda like if you were to talk asz yoda. Have fun you will. lol it is really difficult for me to think that way. But I am trying hard and know that it will co9me.......everutally. But yea, my companion once again cause everybody is aksing is from Sandy utah, he went to Brighton HS. Yes we are going to the same mission. So, it is going well. Sorry i havent written you all more, i finally just not got stamps and i have no ones address. But Hopefully all of yu can send me mailing addresses. Such as Adam in england,. Garret Price in Brazil, Mitch Fultz in San jose, and WAlker in Frnce. That is my challenge to all of you is to get me their addresses. I am loving the BOM, learning so much here, it is such a cool stry and book. I am at the point where alma takes the people of his village back to Zarahemla. So, it is awesome. Almost to all te sweet wars. So, tots digging that. Yes blake, Pres Holland and Bednar came. it was sweet. just talked about mission work and how we must go to everyboidy and share our messgae with tthem. Really cool message, my whole district was in the choir so we had a reserved seat. :) sneaky. We all get along really well, and proly hav the best district in the MTC mainly because i am in it. haha jk, the christlike atrtribute i am working on is humility. haha But yeah, everything here is great. Same thing every dsay so not much is new. lol going to the temple later today which i am excited for. there are 2 elders in my district who know a ton. They are so smart, one of them has even read the entire bible. CRAZY. How are things going in your life. Blake you are failing at Dear Elder. supposed to send me jazz up date and stats after every game so i get it the next day. haha Gradma sends me news ckippings of te game which is awesome. haha Love you guys so much. Miss you all a ton too. I'm kind of a big deal- Mr Burgendy.

2nd Week at the MTC

howareyou alldoingthis week?iamdoing giood exceptiam reading this and i think that the space bar doesnt work that well. But anyways, how are allofyou doing. Idiscovered that i gett annoyedwith immature people. Such as my companion. and some other peoplein my district. They dont understand,butiwill get into detail on that in the letters. So, this week was good. Kinda stressful because spanishis so freaking hard. Let say Gym time is awesome to tkae out stress and dominate in Basketball. I am finally getting my shot back. It was awesome making it rain during basketball. There are a couple of other good players butthey try hard the whole time and barely ever try. Unless they do something stupid. Then i get angry. haha and dominate. Sotoday, is the 50th anniversary at the MTC andsupposedly Pres Monson is giving the devotional tonight. Hopefully my whole distrcit can get a seat. that would be awesome! But, how iseverything in the real world, ionlysay that cause it is the same thing every week here. You guys shouild write me on dear elderafter every Jazz game. Give me stats and updates and stuff. I am in theworks of sending you all letters. Oh, and no more sweets for a while. Ihave ATON left. so preferrably like something like chips. That was a good call dad. But,my district is fun except for the immature people. Iamsure blake knows what i am talking about. 1st Email - Going into the MTC January 18, 2012, My First Week

Hello Family, I am sitting at the MTC right now, with 27 minutes left as a write. So,if i make mistakes it is because i did not go back nd fix them. So, last we talked was when you dropped me off which absolutly sucked. Ben Van Duzor was a little guardian angel like you said mom. But, now as the past couple days have gone by i have started to settle in and become good friends with basically everybody here. My companion is going to the same mission as me, Cali Mission. His name is Elder Watts from sandy. Our District gets along great with eachother. Which is really nice, our zone is great too. I found that i am the BEST at basketball out of everyone i think in the MTC, lol. It is super easy when i play. I can hit the fadeaway J like nothing. So, spanish basically sucks. I suck at it. But, i will get there eventually. We sang Called to serve at the devotional on Sunday, it was awesome. Then, after the devotional we got to watch the testament. It was great, i had never seen it before and could have esaily cried while watching it. But, i resisted. lol So, how is everythuingi with the Jazz sucks that they lost to the MAVs, and i HATE KYLE WILLIAMS: Lost the game single handly for the Niners sounds like. Which SUCKSSSS. Hopefully they will be in the same positiion next year, and the eyar after trhat. But I am having fun here in the MTC, Blake needs to tell me which building my Tie is in. I am the most southern dormitry uint eh area. And no, we didnt get to go on the temple walk, because misssionaries had set up meetings with their familes so we could not go. Our Branch Pres is annoying. Basically says that we cannot do anything at ALL! He is not very cool. But his secretarty is The Domans....he is the older brother of the offensive coordiantor for BYU. He is way cool. But, i feel like the rules here are worse than when in prioson. Whcih is proly true. People judge you so much it is ridiculous. Me and 3 other elders were ñike 25 seconds late to a class and this Hermana read us the scripture about the 10 virgins, and how 5 of them didnt bring oil so they went to go buy some, but were late so they were not let in the door. Ya, people put you on blast with scripture which is werid. But overall, the MTC is pretty fun. Missing all of you though, Saying goodbye was the worst. then the Niner game was a close second when i heard. Food is alright. Nothing to bad or too good. Also, i am the most tired i have ever been, i never get a good night of sleep because it randomly gets really cold. But ya, we are already starting to teach investigators(fake). but it is really hard, and he have to do it in espanol. so it sucks!! i can kinda understand what they say, but i just dont know how to say anything back. So that is what i am doing everyday. Love you all, and i miss you more than you know.
